ENERSOK (a Project Company funded by Electricite de France (EDF), Nebras Power, Sojitz Corporation and Kyuden International ‘the Sponsors’) is proposing the construction and operation of the Syrdarya Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) Project (the ‘Project’), a new gas fired Independent Power Plant (IPP) with a power generation capacity of 1,600 MW.

The Syrdarya CCGT Project is located in Boyovut district, Syrdarya region, Uzbekistan.

Job responsibilities:

The Sponsors are seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer for Maintenance, whose primary role is to properly manage maintenance for the equipment associated with the Syrdarya CCGT Project in Uzbekistan.

To support the Maintenance Manager to ensure that the construction, commissioning and operation phase of the Power Plant are managed in a manner which is aligned to good industry international practice (GIIP) for the sector, the shareholders and compliant with the laws and regulations of Uzbekistan and international standards.

1. In conjunction with the Maintenance Manager, establish and implement the maintenance planning and schedule (Turbine inspection, Major inspection, Borescope inspection).

2. Establish routine work planning and schedule (daily, weekly, monthly).

3. Ensure implementation of maintenance plans according to their schedule and manage any issues arising from them.

4. Ensure the compliance of the maintenance activities according to O&M manual, GT LTSA contract and OEM recommendation.

5. Participate in the recruitment of the Maintenance team staff during the mobilization phase and later during the operation period when recruitment is needed.

6. Organize the necessary training actions to develop and maintain the skill levels of staff needed to meet or exceed performance expectations.

7. Organize and lead the daily, weekly and monthly meetings for planned maintenance work.

8. Keep a record of all meeting related to maintenance and the like on site, complete with subject discussed and a signed list of attendees.

9. In conjunction with the operation team, establish the repair workflow in case the equipment finds any malfunctions.

10. Storage all records for Maintenance works.

11. Manage all maintenance work adequately in time and form, requiring feedback on all work carried out in the plant by Maintenance team.

12. Review and complete O&M manual provided by EPC.

13. Follow up on Punch list which generated during construction phase.

14. Establish and manage the spare parts list and purchase process.

15. Provide support for visits undertaken by Consortium staff, shareholders, lenders, and any of their consultants.

The lead Mechanical Engineer is working closely with Maintenance manager, Operation and Maintenance, and Construction team and the EPC Contractor, to ensure that the Power Plant is safely and stably operated with adequate consideration for technical matters.

The role is 100% site based.

Skills / Competencies:

• Mechanical skills for Maintenance focused
• Troubleshooting
• A demonstrated understanding of maintenance philosophy associated with the CCGT projects, especially gas turbine
• Strong communication skills and comfortable with challenging the stable operation of the Power Plant
• An ability to be both process-focused, and outcome-oriented
• An ability to adopt a collaborative approach

Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications:

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering and at least 10 years experience in thermal power plant field and 3 years of experience in the required position or similar
• Proven ability to minimize thermal power plants maintenance costs through effective planning
• Demonstrated ability to lead a work team
• Proficient knowledge and experience for the maintenance of Gas turbine
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in English (written and verbal) at all levels of the organization. Another language would be a plus
• Notions of Russian / Uzbek are strong assets.
